What is an authorised user?
An authorised user is entitled to receive data and information in an aggregated manner on current drone operations through the network remote identification service. In most cases, this information is displayed in an application.
You are an authorised user if you are a member of one of the following groups:
- the general public (this group can view information deemed public in accordance with applicable union and national rules);
- other U-space service providers (this group can view information to ensure the safety of operations in the U-space airspace);
- the air traffic service providers concerned; or
- relevant competent authorities (e.g. law enforcement agencies and airfield managers).
Why use this service as an authorised user?
Authorised users can access an operator’s flight information in real time. The system is not intended to be a tracking service; it only provides data for the last sixty seconds of a flight.
This service will, for example, enable an airfield manager to see in real-time any drone operations they have authorised on their 5km perimeter of the airfield. It will also help law enforcement agencies ensure that drone operators comply with legal requirements and allow the public to discover information about the ongoing operation of flights in their area.
How to use it?
You will need to download an application or visit a website provided by one of the display providers listed below. Once logged in, you can view the current operations of drone operators using the NET-RID service.
Network Remote Identification Display Provider
Approved by the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation to act as a display provider for the network remote identification service.
